My mother is 78 and a recent widow. She suffered from a prolapse and although she was in considerable discomfort, she was fearful of going through an operation as she had not had one for many years.Bim’s service was excellent, she reassured my mother, talked her through the procedures and spoke to her like an adult.Many older ladies often feel doctors speak in jargon and do not understand how they feel. I live in Australia and was unable to attend the hospital appointments with my mother. Bim allowed me to call her and ask her questions of clarity for my mother.

As a retired nurse I was always going to have strong opinions about the choice of consultant I would see, primarily because of my experiences as a Gynaecology and Urology surgical theatre sister.Based upon a profile of professional credentials and special interests on the Spire Cheshire Hospital website, I made a personal choice of referral to Ms. Bim Williams.
My pre consultation anxiety and apprehension was soon dispelled. I was promptly met and immediately put at ease by the welcoming, relaxed yet totally professional demeanour of Ms. Williams.
I have certain expectations of a professional consultation. These include a listening and empathetic attitude, taking of a comprehensive medical history, a thorough and sensitive medical examination, followed by an informative and inclusive discussion of any findings and management options if required. ‘I first saw Dr Williams’ in March 2014. This initial examination was very thorough and conducted in an efficient and considerate manner. We had a long conversation about my condition and possible management options. I left feeling reassured and with a good background knowledge of the agreed plan of management. During my consultation Miss Williams treated me with care and compassion. Her social style mimetic my own and I instantly had rapport and mutual respect.Bim made me feel reassured and at ease during the examination which is always the part us women dread. Miss Williams summarised everything we discussed and her actions going forward for contacting me with results.

Having had a bad experience and undergoing an unsuccessful bladder repair in 1976, I was naturally very apprehensive about seeing a consultant for a prolapse and rectal repair. I researched various consultants and was very impressed with the qualifications and experience of Bim Williams.
For a few years I had suffered the embarrassment of bowel and bladder leakage so taking part in various sports, golf, jogging and cycling was quite stressful and embarrassing at times. A uterus prolapse was the final symptom to make me take steps to get something done.
From my initial consultation with Bim I was immediately reassured and felt at ease. She fully explained everything and gave me time to mull over any decision I needed to make.
The operation was a success. During the first few weeks of my recovery I contracted a bug from the grandchildren so didn’t feel too good. I emailed Bim who replied immediately and put my mind at rest. Unbelievable that I should receive such personal help!
I am now back jogging and golfing and can’t believe the difference the operation has made to my life, all due to Bim Williams. I have no hesitation in recommending this expert gynaecologist. Many many thanks Bim

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. I chose Bim as my consultant and could not have been happier with my decision.
From the very first appointment she put me totally at ease and answered all my questions. She is very matter of fact but in a very empathetic way which I really appreciated due to that fact that I suffer from a panic disorder and generalised anxiety. She explained the procedure I would have to undergo and did so in a way which made me feel as comfortable as possible even though this was my first ever surgery.
She scheduled my surgery so quickly there was only 3 weeks between initial diagnosis and and the actual operation.
The operation was a complete success thanks to Bim and her surgical team, I knew I was in safe hands.
Due to the size of my cyst I had to have a full laparotomy procedure and was concerned about any scarring, but at just over 3 months post op my scar is almost gone.
I cannot thank her enough for making an unpleasant experience as comfortable, quick and pleasant as possible.

The procedure was great, thank you so much for sorting it without the general anaesthetic! I’ve been feeling great, only had very mild cramps for half an hour after the surgery, and haven’t felt a thing since! Are you sure you did something in there?!I really needed the surgery done quickly and the whole thing had a turnaround of two days, which fitted my schedule perfectly. The whole experience was fantastic, nurse Marie (?) was lovely too and was very caring and supportive when I was feeling a little nervous. Hi Bim just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for seeing me on Wednesday 20th May. Long and short Dr. Williams found cancer and assisted us to arrange surgical treatment. This aspect was fairly straight forward. Pathology reported not all the cancer had been removed, thus Valerie would require the services of a Gynae Oncologist who specialized in Chemo / Radiation treatment. Finding this specialist who accepted private insurance proved difficult.
Dr. Williams and Ms. Pollitt, didn’t give up but searched throughout North England to locate the correct specialist. This was far and above the service and support we expected..
I’d wish if possible to please pass along our heartfelt thanks and grateful appreciation for their help and assistance.

Hello,My experience with Miss Williams was absolutely faultless from the start. I was absolutely petrified of having Lletz treatment and not knowing what could be. Miss Williams was personal and extremely approachable. I couldn’t have asked for a more caring person. She made me feel at ease, was positive and honest and even made time and chased up my hystology results to inform me and help put my mind at rest as I suffer from anxiety.

My Consultant was Bim Williams and the treatment I received was excellent both at the centre and the communication with my Consultant. Bim messaged (even as late as 10pm) me regularly to keep me up to date and went out of her way to organise earlier appointments for me to put my mind at rest. The nurses present during my procedure were also excellent and very professional. All in all I was very impressed. What was in fact a stressful situation was made smooth and stress free due to excellent communication and thoughtfulness.

I have been to see Ms Williams several times. Each time she has met me in the waiting room with a hand shake and lovely smile.
I have been to see her for different things. She listens, doesn’t rush me and suggests a way of solving the problem. Most recently, for example, I went for my cervical smear test. I told her that I really had trouble relaxing properly for the procedure. But, actually, we got chatting and she made me laugh! The whole thing was over before I knew it!
Even though she must see many ladies in her practice, she remembers the small details that I tell her. She is a wonderful gynaecologist.Kind Regards

I recently went to Spire Hospital, Appleton, to have a consultation regarding irregular bleeding and sharp pain during intercourse. Bim Williams was knowledgeable and informative during our first consultation. Unfortunately due to irregular bleeding I was unable to attend my next appointment however after contacting Bim directly I was offered an appointment as soon as I stopped bleeding. During the Coloscopy Bim and her assistant were reassuring and relaxed. I felt comfortable despite having a very intimate procedure and whilst it has only been a couple of weeks since the procedure I have not bled once since.
